Alright, so the weasel agent for Kentucky-based swampbilly act the Legendary Shack Shakers completely ignored Scruffington Post’s pleading calls and requests for an interview. Well, shit on him. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come out to Scruffy City Hall this weekend to see the Shakers, one of the best neo-rockabilly/swamp/roots-punk acts in the game lo, these last 20 years or so, up there on a par with the likes of the Reverend Horton Heat. Their latest record “The Southern Surreal” was issued in 2015 on iconic punk label Alternative Tenacles, but the Shakers are best appreciated live — straight with no chaser. If you come to just one show in the next 30 days or so, make it this one. See you there.
The Legendary Shack Shakers will play Scruffy City Hall Saturday, July 30 at 10 p.m. with guests Skunk Ruckus and the Banditos.
